Hello, everyone! Sorry I’ve taken a few days to post; we have been very busy with beautiful weddings every day! We just said our salutations to Katy and J.J., who had a wonderful wedding complete with traditional Scottish reception dancing and ceremonial bagpiping performed by Scott Beach. Congratulations to the great couple, and I hope they have a relaxing honeymoon!
Over the next few days, I am going to cover the bios of our most-preferred photographers, and today, I am introducing a new award program our office staff has developed for our preferred vendors: The official 2011 Wild Basin Vendie Awards! We are currently developing an award badge for our 2011 recipients, who are our staff’s selection of the best wedding vendors in Colorado. As you may know, we only recommend vendors who have performed services at The Wild Basin Lodge more than three times and who consistently receive incredible reviews. We do not believe in vendors paying to be on a list, because that concept loses credibility and consistency for our customers. Additionally, if a vendor receives a complaint from our customers, they are automatically removed from our preferred vendor list. The Vendie Awards will only be given to those vendors we see here several (if not dozens) of times each year and their work shines as the best, brightest, most professional, and most consistent we have seen at The Wild Basin Lodge. Do you think I should design a trophy for them to carry around to appointments? Maybe require that they all get tattoos (of course, with smart phone compatible “QR Codes”) reflecting this highest of honors? Send me a comment to let me know!
I am going to kick off the first Vendie Award by highlighting the work of Ken from Ken Miller Photography. We have worked with Ken for eight years, and he is a very professional photographer who knows how to work within a timeline. Ken has been photographing weddings since 1987 and his work is traditional with his take on modern photo design and photojournalism. We have seen him here for a number of winter weddings and he has a great collection of outdoor shots from those events, but Ken works year-round and we also see him during peak season. The photographer offers a wide array of packages and he is an affordable photographer. His work is in many public and private collections including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco. The shot you see in this blog entry is from a Wild Basin post ceremony photo session at the nearby Copeland Lake. Ken will work throughout Colorado, and we hope you consider him for your special day!
